The One Mile Project: Palumbo’s Pizzeria

Friday night we walked to Palumbo’s Pizzeria at 454 Snelling Avenue South, Saint Paul, MN 55105

They don’t have a website per se, but you can like them on Facebook.

Awesome pizza.

I love Punch, Grandpa Tony’s, Carbone’s, the Italian Pie Shoppe, Cosetta’s, the Red Savoy and just about every independent pizza restaurant in the Saintly City. And now I have a new love.

As a pizza lover married to a former I’ve-worked-at-every-good-pizza-shop-there-is on both sides of the river guy, I know that you can’t have great pizza without great sauce. Palumbo’s sauce is a magical blend of ripe tomatoes (from where?), oregano, basil, garlic and sweetness.

So what else is wonderful about Palumbo’s? The Gelato. Oh my.

For only $2 — a summer special — you get yummy cup of Pistachio, Stracciatella, Berry, Salted Caramel or Chocolate gelato.

Indecisive? Order a Flight!

Or just order my favorite:  Pistachio or was it Stracciatella, no maybe it was the Berry.

Why else is it good?

The menu is simple, yet complete.

The service is friendly, quick, and can pronounce Stracciatella.

They can spell Buon Appetito.

Prices are right on.

I want to come back again soon.

And they JUST opened.

Bravissimo!
